Bungalow I moved into my own lil bungalow and I think this may be the best thing to ever happen to me. It has made my life so much easier. My body did not agree with the spiral staircase in my parents house so I had to sleep on the sofa bed in the living room and this contributed massively to my depression. I felt like a huge burden. Now I can get to the toilet, kettle and my bed all without a step in sight.
Dorothy - Dorothy is my 91 year old neighbour who is the nicest lady I have ever met. She offers to go to the shop for me. She has some sort of sixth sense and knows when I'm ill and comes round to check on me. And quite possibly the best part is she makes me cakes and tarts all the time. I rarely go a week without a fresh warm baked good being delivered to my door.
Wilma - Wilma is my wheelchair. She's lightweight and PINK. She has given me a new lease of life and makes getting around so much easier. She fits perfectly around my house and is the perfect fit for me. She makes getting out the house slightly less exhausting and is pretty damn comfy.
Wheelchair Basketball - If you follow me on twitter you may know that in about March/April I got roped into playing wheelchair basketball for my brothers team because they didn't have enough players and didn't want to have to pay to forfeit a game. I was a bit apprehensive at first because I have never really been a sporty person and I tried it once before and I got treated pretty badly which put me off. However I stuck with it and I am pleased to say I love it. It's kinda taken over every weekend of my life but I don't mind. I've made some great friends and I get out of the house. Plus if you ignore the ridiculous injuries it is so much fun.
Online Friends - I have made so many great friends on twitter (too many to mention here) but my 2016 would have been so crappy without Sarah and Elle. These girls are the best thing to happen to me and I could not ask for better friends. They are there whenever I need them and they make me laugh until I nearly pee regularly.
Family - There is no way I could have this list without my family. They are my rock and they do so much for me. My parents are my carers as well as my family. They cook for me, literally wash me, take me to my doctors appointments. They are mine and ollies biggest cheerleaders at games. They give up their weekends for us and they never complain (well they do sometimes). Ollie may be a little shit sometimes but he makes me laugh until I injure myself regularly and is always there to cheer me up on a crappy day.
My Blog - 2016 is the year I really started to take my blogging seriously. I'm too ill to work and I went through a really dark time of feeling like a failure. Especially when everyone is obsessed with whether I'm working at what I actually do with my time. I always downplay it but my family are the ones who constantly jump in with the fact that I blog. They big me up all the time and it makes me so happy. I've been getting posts up pretty regularly and I'm working so hard on improving my photography. All in all I'm so happy with how my little blog has improved and I just love it so much. Can't wait to keep improving in 2017.
I love seeing all the good things that have happened or the amazing things you've achieved in 2016 so please do let me know in the comments.
