Now I've tried a few liquid lipstick brands and I am always on the hunt for more to try. I recently got an email to say that these gorgeous Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Minis (Red edition) were back in stock on Cult beauty. I just had to have them and made the order. I got the email to say my order had been shipped a whole 2 hours later and they arrived two days later. I have honestly never had such quick service.
I have such mixed feelings about these beauties. The packaging is gorgeous and I just love the frosted tubes. They smell delicious and edible. The scent is quite strong which might be off putting to some though. It's very sweet and coconutty scent which did remind me of a terrible malibu hangover to start with.
You get 4 shades (1.9ml each) including 3 existing colours and one new metallic shade.
Heartbreaker - Unique Pink Red
Material Girl - Fierce Plum
Showgirl - Vibrant cranberry with a show-stopping foil finish
Famous - Effortlessly chic burgundy
Now onto the formula. I'm really not sure about it. It's definitely lightweight and I would say it is comfortable. It's one of the least drying liquid lipsticks I own but I think that's because it never really dries. It has a tacky feeling to it which I didn't mind but it's something to bear in mind.
I am a huge fan of dark plum and red shades so I was instantly drawn to Material girl and famous. Unfortunately these kind of shades are hard to get even. I adore both of these shades but they apply quite streaky and I really struggled to get a nice even application. They also bleed and feather making it difficult to get a crisp line even with a lip liner. That being said the colours are absolutely stunning and I will keep persevering with them. Famous is probably my favourite. It's such a gorgeous deep red.
Heartbreak is probably the easiest shade to apply and wear out of this set. Some people may have a nude lipstick as their fail safe go to colour but mine is always red. I always chuck on a red lip if I don't know what to wear. This is a gorgeous red and is opaque in one swipe. It lasts pretty well if you're not eating. When you add food to the mix it does crumble and peel in the centre but it does reapply really nicely.
Showgirl is definitely my least favourite out of the bunch and one I will probably never wear. I'm not a massive fan of the metallic lip trend and this one just didn't look right on me.
