I don't have many primers and I really want to try out some more but here's the few I do have. My main skin concern is dryness (like super dryness) so I tend to look for moisturising primers.
Stila One Step Correct // (Full Review) // £24
If you are familiar with my favourites posts and also My holy grails colab I did on wednesday with my babe Sarah you will know that this is hands down my favourite primer. As you can see it is very well loved and I will be repurchasing when I run out. I adore the fact that this colour corrects and primes. It cancels out the majority of the redness in my face, evens out my massive under eye circles and just gives a nice blank canvas ready for my foundation. This primer is also nice and hydrating and I find it means my foundation doesn't go all weird on my dry patches. It does also say it controls oil so it should work for oily skin too. It's just an all rounder and it covers all bases. It ticks all my boxes plus the swirls look cool.
Green - Minimises redness
Lavender - Counteracts sallow undertones
Peach - Brightens, illuminates and helps diminish the appearance of sun spots
Kat Von D Lock It Hydrating Face Primer // £24
This is another one of my faves. If you have dry skin then this should be perfect for you. It is so hydrating and leaves my skin feeling moisturised and ready for my foundation. It sinks in quickly and my foundation applies beautifully on top. Plus how beautiful is that packaging?
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer // £12.50 Travel Size // £26 Full Size
I got this travel size primer when I treated myself to one of the Boots Star Gift deals over Christmas. I do love it but I think I might try the hydrating one next as its specifically for dry skin. However, this beauty does give velvety soft skin which I kinda just wanna keep touching and my makeup applies perfectly on top. It smooths out your skin and minimises pores. Unfortunately my skin does start to feel a bit dry throughout the day.
Nivea Post Shave Balm // £5.29
Are you really a beauty blogger if you haven't tried this as a primer? I tried it because I ran out of primer and I wanted to see what all the hype was about. As my dad had a bottle in I thought I might as well give it a go. First off I really hate the smell of this. Also I made a mess every time I tried to poor some out onto the back of my hand. Now onto it's priming abilities. I did quite like it. My makeup applied nicely and the lasting power was pretty good. However, it wasn't hydrating enough for me and my poor dry face.
Kiss Smoothing Light Reflecting Primer // (Full Review) // £3
I picked this up on a whim when I saw it in Wilkos because I was poor and in desperate need of a new primer. It was £3 and the packaging was cute so I thought I'd give it a whirl. I love it. For £3 it is soo good. It leaves my face beyond soft and my foundation applies like a dream and lasts throughout the day. It is mattifying but I don't find it overly drying on my skin. Plus it even smells nice. If you see this in Wilkos I definitely recommend giving it a try.
I definitely want to try some more primers so if you have any recommendations for dry skin send them my way.
