If you've followed me for a while you will know I have been battling with (and moaning about) horrendously dry skin. My face was like the Sahara and I couldn't wear foundation without it cracking on my skin and making me look like I had scales. I had finally accepted that foundation wasn't for me. However, I am pleased to report I have mastered my skincare and I now have a nice plump and hydrated face. So I thought I'd share what has worked for me. Obviously, I am not an expert and I know next to nothing about skincare. This has just been many years of trial and error. Also needs to be noted that I drink a lot of water because I also have a forever dry mouth (it's a meds side effect) and I've cut out dairy which helped with my breakouts.

Body Shop Drops of Light Brightening Serum & Day Cream - Finding a good serum has definitely been the game changer in my skincare routine. I saw someone say that you're better off with a cheaper moisturiser and a serum than a more expensive moisturiser and no serum. This lightweight serum smells like heaven and sinks into the skin beautifully. It's really evened out my skin tone and leaves my skin feeling plumper. The day cream feels so luxurious and leaves me with a gorgeous healthy looking glow and offers the hydration my skin needs. Doing my skincare routine in the morning now feels like giving my face a drink.
Nivea Face SPF or Body Shop Skin Defence - For SPF I tend to reach mainly for my Nivea one. It works great on my dry skin, sinks in nicely, doesn't leave a white cast and makeup applies well on top. I do also use the Skin Defence but they seem to have changed the formula and it's not as good. I find it quite sticky and it takes a lot to rub it in and it does leave a white tinge so wouldn't work for darker skin tones. Update - The Body shop has now gone back to the old formula. I haven't tried it yet but I've heard it's a thinner consistency and doesn't leave you 10 shades paler.
Glossier balm dotcom - I apply one of these lip balms every morning without fail. They smell (and taste) delicious and my lips survived the whole of winter chap free. I think my favourite is the birthday cake one.
Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Butter or Cleansing Oil - These two are my go to cleansers. If I've only worn SPF or mascara then I use the Oil as my first cleanse. For full makeup days, I use the butter. The butter is my absolute favourite. It melts off my makeup, including my liquid eyeliner. Both of them are really great for sensitive skin as well.
Body Shop Vitamin E Gentle Facial Wash - I then do my second cleanse with the Vit E cleanser. This is the best cleanser I've found for dry skin. It leaves my face feeling nice and clean without drying it out and I don't get that horrible tight face feeling.
Vichy Minéral 89 Hyaluronic Acid Hydration Booster Serum - I'm not 100% sold on this serum but I do recommend using a Hyaluronic acid serum for dry skin. Unfortunately, the Ordinary one that everyone raves about breaks me out. This one does give me a nice hydration boost, I just think it's a bit pricey.
Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Cream and Facial Oil - I honestly don't know how I coped before discovering this duo. The facial oil is absolute heaven and works a treat on dry skin, especially paired with the moisturiser. I love that the oil doesn't leave my skin feeling super greasy. There is also a specific night cream but I prefer this one as it's a thicker consistency and I just feel it hydrates my skin more.
I also use the Body Shop Vitamin C Liquid Peel once a week and it's incredible. It's equal parts gross and satisfying to use and it leaves my skin absolutely glowing and baby soft.
So that's what I use on my face. As you can see I'm a huge fan of The Body Shop. Their products just seem to work well for me and they aren't overly pricey. I have a full Body Shop Review Post of every product I've ever tried from there (I think there's 45 products reviewed) if you were wondering about any of their other offerings.
